Wordris

Made in 5 days for Interstellar Game Jam 5.

A game inspired when I got stuck making my previous idea for this Jam, realize the idea sucked, and start endlessly browsing the assets to try to think of something else.

You type in a word, and each letters turn into pieces you play in the tetris session. After you ran out you type in another word, repeat until you lose.

Controls

Typing:

Alphabets: Typing requires English letters A-Z on keyboards, didn't tested if this worked on any other foreign keyboards.
Backspace: Delete last character
Enter: Can be used as an alternative to clicking the button in the UI for keyboard users

Tetris:

Spacebar: Drop the tetromino to the bottom
Up Arrow Key: Rotate the tetromino
Left/Right/Down Arrow Keys: Move the tetromino piece

Q&A

Q: How do I reach out to you?
A: You can leave a comment here on itch.io or reach out to me on discord via DungSC#2114

Q: Is there an ending to this game?
A: I didn't code any, but technically since there's only a limited amount of words you can use, the maximum possible lines cleared in a single session is 127077 lines with 9 blocks left over (so the score would be 12707700), note that this is the mathematically upper bound without taking into the shapes of the tetrominoes of each letter into consideration. After that you'll get stuck at the picking word screen forever though since I didn't bothered to code that in.

Q: Can I play this on a phone?
A: No.

Q: I live in your walls.
A: I know.

I'm really bad at this game, but I have to say the game is very well made and the music is great!

I also loved the concept of planing your tetris loadout
